Dr Alison Johnstone

MBChB MRCGP DFSRH PGCME

Dr Ali Johnstone founded Deanbrook Private General Practice in 2015 after working as an NHS General Practitioner for over 10 years. She graduated from Sheffield University in 1996 before joining the Royal Army Medical Core. In 2004, she left the Army and worked as an NHS General Practitioner in the Basingstoke area, becoming a GP partner in a local practice for 3.5 years. Dr Johnstone has developed special interests in women’s health, family planning and palliative care and is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners. Her qualifications include a diploma from the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health (DFSRH) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education (PGCME). Dr Johnstone also has substantial knowledge and experience in the field of Travel Medicine.

Dr Felicity Groom

BM DCH MRCGP PGCME DipBSLM IBLM

Dr Groom trained at Southampton Medical school and qualified in 2005. Her specialist interests include Paediatrics, Lifestyle Medicine and Nutrition, though she has a breadth of experience in all General Practice. She is a GP trainer and works regularly for the Out-of-Hours service. She is a keen baker and pianist, and enjoys skiing, swimming and muddy dog walks.

Dr Kate Bailey

BSc BMBS MRCGP DRCOG

Dr Kate Bailey has been working as a GP in the NHS since 2010. She graduated from Durham University in 1996 with a BSc in Psychology, and went on to study medicine at Nottingham University, graduating in 2007. She worked in the Nottingham area until 2017 when she relocated to Wiltshire. She currently works two days a week as an NHS GP as well as her work at the Candover. She has a diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and from the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health. She is interested in the interface between mind and body, mental health and women’s health. She is also a proponent of healthy living and how that enhances modern medicine.

Heidi Blunden

ADVANCED NURSE PRACTIONER

Heidi Blunden joined Deanbrook in 2021 as our Advanced Nurse Practitioner. Heidi attained her nursing qualifications in South Africa before moving to the UK and joining the trauma department at St Mary’s Paddington. She has over 20 years of experience working in Emergency Medicine, after moving from Johannesburg to London in 1996. Outside of Deanbrook, Heidi is a lecturer and examiner at the University of Winchester and she continues to practice as a lead practitioner in the emergency department at the North Hampshire hospital.

Jo Winkworth

DEANBROOK PRACTICE MANAGER

Jo Winkworth joined Deanbrook in February 2016 after moving back to the UK from the US in 2013. She plays a vital role in ensuring smooth communication and excellent service to our patients.
